The Te Huia ‘Twin Peaks’ project required joinery for a modern Log Home design.
Bifold doors were used to provide easy flow from the kitchen and dining areas to the exterior paved patio area. Extra consideration was given to ventilating the upstairs mezzanine bedrooms. Turn and Tilt proved ideal for this situation, allowing the raking gable windows to tilt and turn. These can be opened in turn mode for maximum ventilation, or in tilt. The owners find this mode ideal for ventilating upstairs during the day and also at night to allow a draft free, secure ventilation while they sleep.
Joinery is IV68 Western Red Cedar finished in an exterior timber oil.
