Optimal Windows range of aluminium clad timber windows and doors combine the beneficial thermal performance, warm aesthetics and character of timber windows with the low maintenance and durability of aluminium.
Available for both our IV68mm double glazed and IV90mm triple glazed windows. This range is suitable for Passive House projects.
These custom wooden windows and doors are manufactured using the same production and design techniques as our timber range and then fitted with a thermally broken aluminium cladding. This means there is no loss of thermal performance or energy efficiency when comparing either timber or wood alu. The aluminium cladding is suspended from the timber to avoid any thermal bridging.
Timbers available for this range of double and triple glazed windows include locally grown plantation produced Abodo and FCS certified Western Red Cedar.
Any colours from the Dulux powder coating range are possible for the aluminium cladding.
As with all Optimal Windows products, this range is manufactured right here in NZ.
